ANTWERP, BELGIUM, July 6th, 2021 – Silicon Mobility’s OLEA EVO project is part of the 14 new R&D projects selecte at the 2nd Meeting of the French Steering Committee for Automotive Research and Mobility (CORAM) held on July 5th, 2021, chaired by Bruno Le Maire, Agnès Pannier-Runacher, Jean-Baptiste Djebbari and Luc Chatel.
The project will start in September 2021 and will benefit from co-financing form the Programme d’Investissements d’Avenir (PIA). The total PIA financial support for the 14 selected projects is 109 MEURO.
The OLEA EVO project will optimise the energy efficiency of the drive system of electric vehicles leading to increased autonomy by reducing losses in the inverter as well as in the electric motor. The project involves the development of very advanced and predictive instrumentation and control system, guided by loss models and implemented ina dedicated real time processing IC. The efficiency improvements will be demonstrated on a dynamic test bench by IFP Énergies Nouvelles in accordance to different standardised test cycles.
